Roy McCurdy
An inductee of Rochester’s 2020 Hall of Fame class, Roy McCurdy is a renowned jazz drummer who has toured with legends such as Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Chuck and Gap Mangione, and the Pointer Sisters. McCurdy began to play the drums at 9 and was performing with Roy Eldridge and Eddie Vinson by the age of 17. While in Rochester, he earned a bachelor’s degree from the Eastman School of Music, and is now an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music.
